I’m very chuffed to announce that my favourite piece of work from 2015 has been selected for the Society of Scottish Artists annual exhibition.
I made ‘Seapods’ in January from wrack washed up on the beach at Lower Largo. As it has dried, the seaweed has turned blacker and blacker. There is still a faint scent of sea air inside the two ‘pods’.
The exhibition runs from 21st December 2015 to 18th January 2016 at the Scottish National Gallery, The Academy, Edinburgh, EH2 2EL (formerly the RSA). Open Mon-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 12-5pm (closed 25th and 26th Dec).
Well worth a visit, all the work I saw in the galleries on drop-off day looked fabulous.
Congratulations on having your work exhibited, It looks amazing!

Yeh! I saw them in the exhibition when I was in Edinburgh at Christmas. They’re beautiful wee things. Was so proud – I wanted to announce to the other exhibition goers that I knew the artist – managed to stop myself 🙂

Thanks Anne for your response to ‘Seapods’! I just heard today they’ve been sold 🙂
I enjoyed your review of 2015 and intentions for 2016. A diamond year right enough.
